The Gods of the Universe
In the beginning of time, there was one being -- Aldron, God of All Things. Aldron would go on to create the planets and stars, lonely in his creation, Aldron created the Elves, and he created them in his own image. He placed the Elves on the planet of Bodhan Torr, his most favorable of all planets he had created. Aldron had made Elves as himself, immortal and immune to old and disease. He did however make them slayable physically. Aldron created many different types of Elves, he first created the Aylmer, then the High Elves. The Wood Elves followed, then the Marsh Elves. The Dark Elves were the last of Aldron’s creations, and many speculate that they were a mistake in the first place.
The Elves would prove to be entertainment for Aldron, however, he himself wanted more. Aldron created Men, and created them once again in his image. However, he would give Men distinct details that would separate them from the Elves. He made them somewhat shorter, stronger, and hairier. He made them passionate, thoughtful, and loving, whilst also ensuring that they are tough, hardy, stubborn, and confident. Aldron, tired of being alone, gave Man a blessing, known as the Blessing of Man, in which he granted man mortality. Disease and old age would certainly kill them, however, they would go to the plane of Nindrol, where they would be granted eternal afterlife among the Gods if they proved to have a worthy life.
Even still, Aldron felt as if he lacked something. The God of All decided to give Godhood to other beings, to join him forever. Aldron waited a hundred years before making his first selection. Aldron chose Saelus, a human warrior who proved to be the mightiest of them all. This angered many of the Elves, who felt that they were betrayed by their own god. Those who resented Aldron were casted away by angels that Aldron himself sent. The only beings who could be in the afterlife were men, therefore winged wraiths descended upon Astrica, casting those Elves who dared to speak negatively of Aldron into an eternal sea of fire. Many speculate that those outcasted are still suffering to this day, thousands of years later.
However, this would be the last time that a God would intervene in the mortal realm. Saelus was granted Godhood upon his death, becoming the first being ever to walk the mortal plane and then ascend to the Halls of Theoduin, where Aldron resided for thousands of years alone. Aldron granted Saelus the position of God of Mankind, in which Aldron clearly favored over his own Elvenkind. Despite this, Aldron would grant another being godhood just ten years later. Bhyrindaar, the Elf who formed the great Aylmer Empire, was granted Godhood upon achieving complete unification of South-Eastern Merdimum. Bhyrindaar would join as the God of Elvenkind.
For the next thousands of years, five others would join these three in the Halls of Theoduin. Tanolus, a great warrior that took and saved thousands of lives through his ancient efforts was granted the Godhood of Life and Death.
Zeleria, a female Wood Elf who single handedly stopped the extinction of her kind through the power of her words and presence was granted the Goddess of Beauty. Zeleria was the first female to achieve Godhood.
Jhuvik, a Yekeminese scholar and philosopher whose’ works influence the masses even thousands of years later could be considered one the most influential non-military figure of Astrica. His works that were created before his ascendance can still be read today. Jhuvik was granted the Godhood of Wisdom and Logic.
Hossam, a Yekeminese warrior who fought before the Days of Trammel, captured beasts and monsters from his region to prepare for a massive invasion by a long-forgotten Elf Kingdom that would have easily overpowered the young empire. Hossam awaited for the enemy legions to come marching, as he released his ambush. Thousands of wild beasts and monsters charged at the enemy, tearing them to shreds, the invading army would quickly be defeated and retreated. Hossam, upon his death, was granted the Godhood of Work, Hunting, and the Harvest.
Velethui was granted Godhood due to his economic and honest success. Laying the ground work for the unification of the Asketillian people, Velethui was a human that became perhaps the richest being in history. Through honest works, investments, deals, and business owning, Velethui was granted Godhood of Relationships, Commerce and Trade due to his outstanding reputation with traders across the lands.
These Gods now reside of the Halls of Theoduin, where they will live for eternity. They rule the planets and the stars, and they watch over Astrica and the other continents of Bodhan Torr. Collectively, they choose Deities to directly oversee the planets they rule. The Gods believe that they, under no circumstance, should intervene in the mortal realm after the Day of Casting that Aldron had ordered in the past. They have, however, granted deities the option of existence within the mortal realm.
