Combat effectiveness was at a surprising high considering the inexperience brought about by having our company saturated with new marines. Lance Corporals showed excellence in the field when they took command of teams after having NCOs wounded in action. Team roles were effective and our firepower was effective, example being, Helix was brought to point as an assaultman and destroyed enemy fortifications with an ML-77 Rocket Launcher, paving a path for an assault. All casualties sustained were evacuated quickly and calmly.

When continuing with an investigation and staff is short, more staff should be called in to make the mission effective.

Admiral Hackett sent us a private whom, before the operation, ingested red sand at an unknown time and location, likely before arriving. Private was killed when he was shot several times and simply did not move because he couldn't feel pain. Having marines like that in our company is not only dangerous to themselves but others and even local civilians. Having such personnel present and in the organization of the company is unacceptable.

Comments
I thought we took care of this six years ago and it just pops up here on Omega? That doesn't make much sense to me. We may have contained it on Omega but this is Omega, any slimeball could have saved just a piece of this fungus. Containing it on a station with a ventilation is one thing but I've seen what it can do to a colony.

Utilizing two teams was effective, TE2 held the line well while TE1 was able to push and flank an assaulting force that TE2 was able to engage and destroy from the open. Casualty care was effective, our corpsmen did a good job of applying field aid and evacuating wounded.

Fire support was unclear, we received fire support but had no knowledge that it was available. In order to fully utilize our fire superiority, we need to know exactly what we have.

Arglack is starting to show good leadership potential. Most NCOs have already recommended him for promotion and it's likely to happen. Any concerns about him not wanting to fight krogan were disproved last night, makes sense, I don't hesitate to kill scumbag humans just because they are human. Later into the night we received a new addition. We will now have enough Service Chiefs and when Arglacks promoted, we'll have enough corporals. The new privates are getting some good experience, they won a decisive victory but I don't want them getting cocky, no one has died yet and that's good but these privates don't yet fully understand how easily it can happen, and the consequences for such an event. Nonetheless, they're proving to be good marines.

We took the second most important objective in the area, the first one being the enemy FOB itself. We now control a direct route to the enemy base, a method of transferring all the supplies we need for an assault and we isolated them to their side of the bridge, decreasing their control on the region drastically. This will in turn allow us to take their FOB which will in turn allow us to control an important region on this planet, giving us the means to capture it. When the planets captured, the war will heavily weigh toward the loyalists and it all comes back to this one bridge we assaulted tonight. We won but at the cost of two marines. Their sacrifice has secured a better future for an entire people and they'll never know. We will, though.
