Cut the Shit

EUPRP has always and will always be a place of quality role play. Everything we do we do for a very specific reason, whether it be the MOSs we allow to the alien restrictions. These systems have kept our RP not only alive for over a year but has kept it quality. As of late with tons of new additions, we've received a lot of positive praise from our new players and things like this really help the admin team and event team continue doing what we do.

However, there is a problem emerging in a couple of players.

Now, we've had characters in relationships before, and we still even have some of those characters in a relationship. However, these relationships were developed over months and perhaps even a year of constant role play, they were genuine and logical, they were not random hook ups that seemed force but instead another dynamic that was apart of an alive role play.

With that being said , the admin team has decided to cease these fake relationships. Not only are they fake, they're just plain weird and make no sense in terms of the universe and the situation. We are a crew of elite, select marines, however we have characters who join and three days later find themselves in a relationship with another. While there have been a few cases , these cases need to stop. Instead of acting like professionals mature soldiers, characters are acting like desperate , confused, and horny teenagers , and it really puts a gross dent into the role play because it's the only thing that is not genuine in any sense of the word.

If you're going to have a relationship, let it develop like an actual one, stop forcing yourself into each other because it's truthfully gross and weird.

The players do not like it, the admins do not like it, therefore it will not be tolerated any longer.

I know I have taken some part in the stupidity of this, but I was just roleplaying it out the way my character would.

Relationships are meant to be real, roleplay or not. That's why my other relationships on Ester felt so good, they're meant to be a drive for quality RP, and it really helps investment.

I posted a support thing for this earlier but it dissapeared somehow, but I decided to add a little more to my original post and include a short lesson on relationships. Everyone here has specified that we like real relationships, not cheap ones, so I thought I'd make it even easier for those who are offenders of cheap relationships by including how to build a strong relationship.

If you want to make a relationship on the server:

1. Would your character want a relationship? Think about your character's past and personality when you answer that question.
   - If your character would want a relationship, think about how they'd approach it. Would they approach it with anxiety and shyness? Would they approach it with directness? Or, maybe they don't even approach it all, and they're a hopeless romantic.
   - If you want to create a relationship, but you think that it would violate your character's personality or beliefs, just go make a relationship in real life. Your desire to write about romance normally disappears when you've got your romantic fill IRL.
   - When you take the time to think about your character and how they act around other people, it improves the way the community views you, it improves your character, and it improves your understanding of your character.

2. If you have a relationship on the server, make sure you're spending time with other people, not just your IC significant other.
   - It makes you, the 17-24 year old male, look like you want to fuck your IC significant other (most likely another 17-24 year old male).
   - It makes the community dislike you because you're here to jack off.

3. If you have an IC relationship on the server, keep all erotic roleplay on steam chat, and try to keep control on how much romantic roleplay you do on the server as opposed to steam chat.
   - None of us agreed to be randomly exposed to pornography.
   - We know you're jerking off, and we don't want to know.
